'Can't seem to be getting enough of these lion movies. But before he can take over a pride of his own, Letsatsi and Gisani must face their greatest challenge - the trophy hunter- for whom legends are worthless and rare skins priceless. After many trials and tribulations he finally learns to hunt by himself and grows into a magnificent adult. When Nkulu is killed by a farmer, Letsatsi is forced once again to survive on his own. Gisani, guided by fate, believes that he must find a way to prevent this tragedy from happening. Gisani, who is watching over Letsatsi, takes a job as a tracker with a local hunter, who has his sights set on leading the hunt for this rare and magnificent white lion. Close to starvation, Letsatsi befriends Nkulu, an older lion and together they learn how to survive in the harsh African wilderness. This young lion, whom will be known as Letsatsi, is cast from his pride and forced to embark upon a perilous journey of survival. When a white lion is miraculously born into that valley, a young Shangaan named Gisani, finds himself destined to protect this rare and magnificent creature at all costs. The lion cubs and mom remain hidden from public view, but Toronto Zoo’s Twitter feed will offer constant updates on the cubs’ growth until they are strong enough to be released from the maternity den.According to the legend of the Shangaan, white lions are the messengers of the gods, but it has been years since one has been seen in their remote African valley. After the birth of the four cubs, weighing only 1.3 kilograms each, Makali and her cubs were tucked away from the public’s gaze in the maternity area of the lion habitat. The female lion was showing signs of late pregnancy in mid-September, where she was closely monitored 24 hours a day by staff. Makali, the zoo’s rare, 4-year-old white lion, gave birth to two cubs on Sept. Their activities range from playing with their toys and following mom around in the maternity den. “Now weighing between 13 to 14 pounds, they have become quite fuzzy,” says the Toronto Zoo. Panda cubs, watch out! There’s a new troop of white lion cubs taking over at the Toronto Zoo and adding to the Internet’s daily dose of cuteness.Īround a month ago, the four white lion cubs could hardly open their eyes, but are now curiously springing and stumbling towards their new toys, as seen in a video update from the Toronto Zoo. ![]()
